Joni May is a Licensed Speech Language Pathologist. She has been practicing for 12 years. Prior to practicing as a Speech Language Pathologist, Joni worked as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant for 4 years. She has worked in a variety of settings including public schools, pediatric home health, and pediatric private practice. Joni has a love for pediatric therapy and has treated children from birth to 21 years of age, all with a wide range of communication disorders. During her years at the schools, Joni served on a variety of evaluation teams, including multidisciplinary evaluations, Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities, Autism, Augmentative and Alternative Communication.
Joni received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communication Disorders in 2005 from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. Joni furthered her education and earned a Master of Science Degree in Speech Language Pathology in 2010 from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas. Joni completed her Clinical Fellowship at Goose Creek Independent School District in 2011. Joni currently holds a Texas License in Speech Language Pathology and a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Heading Association (ASHA).
Joni’s passion is working with preschool-aged children with language disorders. Joni is from China, Texas. She currently resides in China with her husband, Jordan, and the loves of her life, Maverick (7) and Molly Kate (4).
